A wallet traced to the UXLINK hacker is carrying a 30,282 ETH long on Hyperliquid with a liquidation price of $1,785.73, roughly 23% below the $2,314 mark. That position, plus $88.57 million of net outflows from US spot Ethereum ETFs yesterday, is why the ETH News Score sits at 52 across 13 stories, a neutral reading with 6 bullish and 7 bearish.
The hacker's leveraged bet that won't move
The on-chain tracker flagged the position this week: 30,282 ETH long on Hyperliquid, opened at an average of $2,134.45. That is about $70.03 million of notional against an account equity of roughly $6.4 million, so the real leverage is close to 11x and the withdrawable balance is zero. Liquidation sits at $1,785.73, and the last add was on August 30 near $2,450. Nothing has moved for 58 days, and the wallet has paid about $1.3 million in funding fees over that stretch.
What matters for anyone watching ETH is not the paper profit. It is that a large, forced seller sits close enough to the current price that a routine drawdown could turn into a market order. The position is also a reminder that stolen funds are not always rushed to a mixer. Sometimes they sit in plain sight, levered up, waiting.
BitMine's buying slows just short of the target
BitMine bought 10,452 ETH last week at an average of $2,344, worth about $24.5 million. Over the same stretch it spent roughly $46 million buying back its own stock. That is almost twice as much capital going to equity as to ETH, and it comes as the company closes in on a stated goal of holding 5% of total ETH supply. The gap is now about 58,000 ETH.
Tom Lee has been publicly bullish, so the slower pace is worth noting. It does not mean the treasury thesis is broken. It does mean the marginal bid from that corner is smaller than it was, and in a week when ETFs are leaking, that matters for the tape.

ETF outflows add to the cautious side
US spot Ethereum ETFs saw $88.57 million of net outflows yesterday, according to Trader T. That is the cleanest bearish data point in the batch. It also lines up with the broader tone in the feed: of the 13 stories we scored over 24 hours, 7 came in bearish and none landed neutral.
Outflows alone do not dictate price. But when a leveraged long with a tight liquidation and a slowing corporate buyer are on one side, and ETF redemptions are on the other, the market tends to trade heavy until one of those forces gives.
What the 52 actually measures
The score runs from 0 to 100 and depends only on how each story splits between bullish and bearish language. Bullish starts at 60 and above, bearish at 40 and below, and neutral sits in between. Across 13 stories in the last 24 hours, the average came to 52, with 6 bullish and 7 bearish and none neutral. The split is close enough that the headline number tells you more about balance than about direction.
Read from the short side, the same data comes to 48. That is the complement to 100, and it is a useful sanity check when the feed feels louder than the number suggests.
Signal track record stays thin
Signalyze closed 1 ETH signal in the 30 days before the latest story, all from Algorithm 3. None of those judged reached Target 1 first. A signal counts as a win only if it reaches at least Target 1, so the recent record is empty on the winning side. That is a small sample, and it is not a reason to lean one way or the other on its own.
What to watch next
Two levels and one flow matter from here. The $1,785.73 liquidation on the hacker's long is the obvious downside marker, about 23% under the current $2,314. On the upside, $2,450 is where the position was last added, so a move back through that level would put the trade in profit and test whether the holder starts taking risk off.
Then watch the ETF flow line. If outflows persist while BitMine keeps prioritizing buybacks, the neutral 52 will have a hard time moving toward 60. If the flows turn and the hacker's position stays put, the bearish case loses its two loudest arguments.
